Implementation of a W &rarr &tau + &nu analysis class




In this summerstudent project an analysis class for the HepMCAnalysis Tool was developed and implemented. The class will evaluate the physics process p + p &rarr W &rarr &tau + &nu on generator level by histogramming the distributions of significant observables. This process plays an important role in the background of Higgs and supersymmetric particle decays into &tau -leptons.


All the analyses are based on the HepMCAnalysis tool. Here is a documentation of the used release 3.2.



The analysis has been applied to the following Monte Carlo generators:

Validation for Pythia6 6.423.2 in reference to 6.421.2:
Validation for Pythia8 140 in reference to 135:
Validation for Herwig 6.510.3 in reference to 6.510.2:
Validation for Herwig++ 2.4.2 in reference to 2.4.1:
